Our research is concerned with the application of laser-based techniques in chemistry and materials science. We study the physical mechanisms of chemical and biological reactions, the spectroscopy and structure of reactive intermediates, analytical applications of laser spectroscopy, mechanical effects of light, and quantum optics. Who are we?
We are an experimental group doing basic and applied research in the field of optics and photonics. Our research activity integrates several disciplines including physics, chemistry, biology and materials science, spanning among four highly ranked graduate programs: BioTechnoScience, Chemistry, Nanoscience and Advanced Materials, and Physics.
The Applied Spectroscopy Group is integrated in the Center for Natural and Human Sciences at the Federal University of ABC (UFABC). The group has been formed by recent researchers in the fields of optics and photonics carrying out intensive activities in different research projects and to several papers in international journals.
